Yep yesterday was my Birthday. I got to go to a parent teacher conference and watch it rain all afternoon.
Not much fun at all but 41 is not a big age to celebrate either.
No grit for me yesterday. I did not run. I just don’t think you should have to run in the cold rain on your birthday.
If you read here much. Ha just joking nobody does. I have the statistics to prove it.
I wrote about some local runners Sean Burris and Barbara Parker in this entry
http://andyroberts-running.blogspot.com/2007/12/grit.html
Well I ran into Sean last night. I had always heard that he is a really nice guy but I had never talked to him. He was indeed very nice and very enthusiastic about life and running. Ends up that he and Barbara got married so congratulations to them. Barbara is not running for FSU this spring which is a bummer because I don’t think I ever got to see her race. The top FSU runners rarely race in town. I guess Barbara is training hard for her Olympic trials at this point instead of sticking with NCAA competition. Not a tough decision really. I hope she makes the team it would be awesome to see somebody that I run past(going the opposite direction not faster than) fairly often marching into the Olympic Stadium. It could be a good Olympics for that if everybody does well we could possibly see Barbara Parker, Andrew Lemoncello, Kevin Sullivan, Susan Ku..(I can’t spell it), Tom Lancashire In the Olympics.
Maybe even Andrew Krummins I don’t know if he is fast enough or not but he just ran a national record last week so I hope so.
This is an amazing town that you could run into 2 or 3 Olympic athletes in any give day of running.
Or just me.

Happy birthday!
Hi, thanks for making such a nice comment about my son, Sean and my daughter in law, Barbara. They really are nice people.
Want to hear something funny...Sean English family line is from Ashwicken, just a couple of kilos from Barbara's home..just a couple hundred years earlier... just some fun family stuff...
Hope you had a great birthday.
Thanks again. Sandi Mathis
Hi, I'm Sean's mommy...and Barbara's mommy-in-law. Thank you for saying such nice things about Sean and Barbara....I, as a mom could always find nice things to say about him, but it's nice with someone else sees what a nice guy he is....oh yea...hope you had a nice birthday!

Sean Looked good on the Track at the FSU Relays. He had to run along almost the entire race and still ran well. He was the victim of some good Gator teamwork at the end putting him in 4th but 14:40 ish was a good time.
